honey sweetened and perfectly tart lemonade made with a honey basil simple syrup, fresh berries and lemons.
Boil 1 cup of water. Remove from heat and stir in the raw honey until dissolved. Add 1/4 cup of the basil leaves and cover. Set aside.
In a food processor or blender, combine the strawberries, lemon juice and the rest of the basil and puree until smooth.
Strain the honey basil syrup into a pitcher and add the strawberry puree. Top off with cold filtered water and stir well. Taste and add more water, lemon or honey to taste.
Serve over ice within 48 hours. Best consumed day of!
