My taste buds can sense the nearing of spring! I’ve been craving iced matcha, cold brews and all the fruit smoothies. I’m not a regular smoothie aficionado by any means. After years of drinking them almost daily, it’s a rarity that I want them. I’m pretty sure when I am craving a good smoothie, it’s my body’s way of intuitively asking for more fruit — and I gladly comply! My favorite frozen fruit is a toss up between frozen blue berries and frozen mango. Blueberries are delicious always, but there is something so divine about the creaminess of frozen mango!

My go-to smoothie combination lately has been a blueberry mango smoothie with some simple superfood boosts! I recently requested turmeric to be added to my smoothie at our local juice bar and I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. Since then, I’ve added it to every single one I’ve made. In this recipe, I use turmeric and ground ginger — both of which have excellent anti-inflammatory properties! Hempseed and flaxseeds add omega fatty acids and some plant-based protein to the smoothie, which help provide lasting energy. Ready for the recipe?

Blueberry Mango Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is full of delicious and potent anti-inflammatory ingredients like turmeric, ginger, blueberry and more.


  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non)
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tbsp hempseed
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground ginger


  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve right away or store in the fridge for upto 24 hours.

Maybe you’ve noticed my lack of frequent posts in the last month and a half, maybe you haven’t. But the bottom line is that the last couple months I’ve been struggling with a combination of burnout and sheer terror of the unknown.

What I mean: Blog burnout is totally a real thing, especially if you’re in the midst of figuring out the direction you want to continue in. Burnout is extra real when compounded with the fears and anxieties of trying to build your own business.

Basically the last two months has been a strange cycle of working to build my business but also getting in my own head over “but what if it fails?” On more than one occasion I’ve found myself staring at my computer screen and feeling paralyzed by “what next?”

It doesn’t help that I have this habit of working on 7 things at once only to realize that two weeks later, none of them have been carried out to completion. And while it’s okay for me to acknowledge this as a personality trait, I realize that I can’t use it as something to hide behind. It does me no good to plan to do something, not do it and then say “well that’s just how I am.”

So I’m working on it

So I’m trying to work on my single pointed focus. I’m setting daily goals instead of weekly or monthly ones and I’m finally tying up loose ends in projects and the business planning process. Slowly but surely, I am laying a solid framework for my business, dreams and goals. Unfortunately, addressing the background work has meant that I have had a lot less time to create content, recipes and more. But I know that the only way I can start producing quality and focused content, is by doing that mess background work to become clear on my intentions and my vision.

Why Am I Sharing This?

Because while I might appear to have it all together in life, on social media and here on the blog, I am a human. A human who also gets scared, who struggles with focus and self-accountability and at moments feels like they’re moving in a circle. I too am a human who sometimes doubts themself and their trust and faith of the process. A human who missteps and has to do the work to find their footing again. But such is life, and that is okay!

If you’re struggling with fear and self-doubt and self-accountability; it’s okay, my friend! Take a breathe, self-check, get clear on your intentions, prioritize and then just keep on moving forward. Because at the end of the day, all we can really do, is keep moving forward!
